Renee is from a small town in Minnesota, where she grew up on a dairy farm. She moved to the St. Louis area in 2003 to attend Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2006. Renee works as a full time clay artist in her Maplewood studio and works as a ceramics instructor for children and adults throughout St. Louis. Renee creates her work with the intention of her pieces being highly functional. She works with porcelain due to its clean white surface which allows her the freedom to create different designs and patterns. Renee's work is represented in several galleries throughout the St. Louis area and she also participates in national art fairs and shows throughout the year. In 2007 Renee won Best Local Artist for the Webster Groves Art and Air Fair, and she has also been featured in functional ceramic publications and exhibitions throughout the country. Continue to look for Renee's work as she expands her career as a professional clay artist.
